Ephesians 5:10

King James Version (1769)

10 Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.
Untruth

Misinterpretations often include reducing the verse to mere legalistic rule-following or earning divine favor through works, detached from its grace-centered context; others twist it into subjective 'what feels right' personal intuition over objective biblical truth, or limit it to avoiding obvious sins while ignoring relational wisdom, Spirit-led discernment, and redemptive living in a fallen world.

Truth

This verse calls believers to actively test and discern what is pleasing to the Lord in their conduct, living lives that demonstrate through practical actions and choices alignment with God's will, as guided by Scripture and the Holy Spirit in the broader context of walking as children of light, filled with wisdom and gratitude.
