Ephesians 6:13

King James Version (1769)

13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Untruth

Misinterpretations often reduce this verse to mere human resolve or physical preparedness, ignoring its emphasis on God's supernatural armor for spiritual warfare against demonic principalities rather than flesh-and-blood foes; others treat it as a guarantee of earthly success in battles or trials without the need for ongoing prayer and faith, or detach it from the full armor context, promoting partial reliance on self-effort that leads to defeat instead of divine empowerment.

Truth

Ephesians 6:13 calls believers to fully equip themselves with the whole armor of God, a complete spiritual arsenal including truth, righteousness, faith, salvation, God's Word, and prayer, so they can withstand Satan's assaults during the evil day of intensified temptation or persecution and, after exhausting every defensive and offensive measure, stand firm unshaken in victory through Christ's strength.
