I Samuel 19:21

King James Version (1769)

21 And when it was told Saul, he sent other messengers, and they prophesied likewise. And Saul sent messengers again the third time, and they prophesied also.
Untruth

Misinterpretations often portray the prophesying as involuntary hysteria or demonic possession rather than the Holy Spirit's controlled influence for protection, leading some to dismiss biblical prophecy as emotional chaos or to misuse the scene to promote chaotic worship practices; others erroneously conclude the messengers were instantly saved or that such spiritual overpowering guarantees moral transformation, ignoring the temporary restraint without evidence of repentance.

Truth

This passage illustrates the sovereign power of God's Spirit to thwart evil intentions and protect His anointed servant David; despite Saul sending messengers three times to seize him at Naioth in Ramah, the Spirit causes them to prophesy instead, rendering them unable to carry out their mission and highlighting divine intervention that overrides human plans aligned against God's will.
