II Chronicles 30:1

King James Version (1769)

1 And Hezekiah sent to all Israel and Judah, and wrote letters also to Ephraim and Manasseh, that they should come to the house of the Lord at Jerusalem, to keep the passover unto the Lord God of Israel.
Untruth

Misinterpretations often portray Hezekiah's invitation as a political unification effort succeeding immediately, ignoring the scornful rejection by many in the north and the focus on spiritual rather than territorial restoration. Others wrongly use it to endorse ecumenical compromise with idolatry, overlooking the prerequisite call to repentance and cleansing, or to justify altering sacred timings and rituals arbitrarily, when the delayed Passover was biblically permitted only under specific circumstances of ceremonial uncleanness.

Truth

Hezekiah's bold action in dispatching messengers and letters to all Israel and Judah, including the northern tribes of Ephraim and Manasseh, reveals a heartfelt call for spiritual unity and national revival amid longstanding division. By urging the people to gather in Jerusalem for Passover observance as commanded by God, the passage emphasizes restoration of covenant worship, the power of godly leadership to bridge divides, and God's inclusive invitation to repentance and communal celebration of His deliverance.
