II Chronicles 35:14

King James Version (1769)

14 And afterward they made ready for themselves, and for the priests: because the priests the sons of Aaron were busied in offering of burnt offerings and the fat until night; therefore the Levites prepared for themselves, and for the priests the sons of Aaron.
Untruth

Misinterpretations often portray the priests as negligent or lazy for not preparing their own Passover, ignoring their exhaustive focus on burnt offerings; suggest the Levites overstepped into priestly roles, when they merely handled auxiliary meal preparation as assigned assistants; or misuse the event to advocate erasing role distinctions in contemporary churches, disregarding its specific context within Josiah's reforms and the Levitical system's prescribed divisions of labor.

Truth

This verse illustrates the selfless dedication and cooperation among temple servants during King Josiah's grand Passover celebration, where the priests, descendants of Aaron, were fully occupied with offering burnt offerings and fat into the night, prompting the Levites to prepare the Passover sacrifices for both themselves and the priests, ensuring the sacred observance proceeded without interruption and emphasizing communal support in worship.
