A frequent misinterpretation treats this verse as guaranteeing sinless perfection or complete immunity from any spiritual falls during one's earthly life, fostering complacency and ignoring Jude's urgent warnings against false teachers and the need to earnestly contend for the faith; rather, it emphasizes God's sovereign ability to uphold and ultimately perfect His people despite human frailty, not a license for presumption.
