Luke 13:24

King James Version (1769)

24 Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.
Untruth

Misinterpretations often portray this as promoting salvation by rigorous human works or moral striving alone, ignoring that true striving is empowered by God's grace and the Holy Spirit in response to Christ's invitation; others mistakenly view the narrow gate as an arbitrary exclusionary barrier for the masses, reducing it to legalism rather than the necessary rejection of sin and self-reliance for humble submission to Jesus as the only way.

Truth

Jesus teaches that entering God's kingdom demands strenuous, determined effort through the narrow gate of repentance and genuine faith in Him, as many will casually seek entry but fail because they lack true commitment, relying instead on cultural religion, familiarity, or good intentions without heartfelt obedience and transformation.
