Misinterpretations of this verse often reduce God's everlasting kingdom to a temporal earthly realm, such as promising political dominance or material prosperity for believers in the present age, akin to prosperity gospel teachings that overlook its spiritual emphasis. Others confine it to ancient Israel or a future millennial reign, ignoring the psalm's broader poetic praise of God's universal, timeless dominion over all nations and generations as a source of comfort amid life's uncertainties.
