Revelation of John 3:21

King James Version (1769)

21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
Untruth

Common misinterpretations treat this as a guarantee of earthly prosperity, power, or elite status for super-spiritual Christians today, ignoring its future heavenly context; or as a works-based merit system separate from grace, overlooking that overcoming relies on Christ's victory; or as universal for all professing believers without regard for perseverance, diluting the call to faithful endurance amid trials.

Truth

Jesus promises that those who overcome through faith and perseverance will share in His throne, just as He overcame sin and death to sit with the Father, highlighting the ultimate reward of intimate fellowship, authority, and co-rulership in the eternal kingdom for all faithful believers who endure to the end.
