Zechariah 8:8

King James Version (1769)

8 And I will bring them, and they shall dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God, in truth and in righteousness.
Untruth

Misinterpretations often treat this as an exclusive promise for a future millennial kingdom limited to ethnic Jews, ignoring its spiritual fulfillment in the church as God's people from all nations; others dismiss any ongoing relevance to Israel by overly spiritualizing it solely to the present age, neglecting the prophet's emphasis on physical restoration and future hope; still others view it as merely historical without messianic implications, missing the broader redemptive context pointing to Christ's righteous reign.

Truth

God promises to restore His exiled people Israel to Jerusalem, establishing an intimate, faithful covenant relationship where they will be His people and He their God, marked by truth and righteousness, foreshadowing ultimate spiritual renewal and divine dwelling among His redeemed in the new covenant through Christ.
