Ezekiel 43:7

King James Version (1769)

7 And he said unto me, Son of man, the place of my throne, and the place of the soles of my feet, where I will dwell in the midst of the children of Israel for ever, and my holy name, shall the house of Israel no more defile, neither they, nor their kings, by their whoredom, nor by the carcases of their kings in their high places.
Untruth

Misinterpretations often treat this passage as a literal blueprint for a future physical third temple in Jerusalem focused exclusively on Jewish rituals, ignoring its prophetic, visionary context within Ezekiel's temple tour that points to eschatological fulfillment in Christ's spiritual temple—the church—where God's presence dwells through the Holy Spirit; others spiritualize it entirely to negate any future earthly reality or apply it legalistically to enforce external purity without addressing the heart's transformation from idolatry and whoredom.

Truth

In Ezekiel's vision of the restored temple, God affirms His eternal dwelling among Israel as the place of His throne and the soles of His feet, emphasizing a perpetual divine presence that demands holiness; this core truth promises renewal and covenant fidelity, where Israel will no longer defile God's name through idolatry, immorality, or desecrating practices like placing royal tombs in high places, symbolizing ultimate restoration and God's unchanging commitment to His people.
