Isaiah 49:8

King James Version (1769)

8 Thus saith the Lord, In an acceptable time have I heard thee, and in a day of salvation have I helped thee: and I will preserve thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, to establish the earth, to cause to inherit the desolate heritages;
Untruth

Misinterpretations often reduce this to a mere historical promise to Isaiah or ancient Israel, ignoring its messianic prophecy fulfilled in Jesus as the Servant who inaugurates the new covenant; others distort it into a prosperity formula guaranteeing personal wealth or land acquisition today, neglecting the spiritual emphasis on divine timing, preservation amid suffering, and collective restoration rather than individual gain.

Truth

God promises His Servant, prophetically the Messiah, that in the appointed time of divine favor He will answer prayer, grant salvation, preserve the Servant, and appoint him as the covenant mediator for the people to restore the earth and reclaim desolate inheritances, illustrating God's redemptive plan that culminates in Christ establishing a new covenant of spiritual renewal and global restoration for Israel and the nations.
